The twists and turns of the TV show "Lost" has captivated audiences since the first moment Oceanic flight 815 broke in half in midair 1,000 miles off course. Strangely, 49 passengers survived on the front of the plane and 22 in the back. Each week a new piece of the puzzle is added.

All three seasons have presented a new side to what is happening on the island. In the beginning, there was a crash that left 71 passengers stranded on a strange island with several secrets to be revealed. With every fall, a new season pushes television to a different level of prime time.

However, this season's show is drowning in dullness. The anticipation has become strenuous and has left viewers unsatisfied.

Looking back on episodes like "The Other 48 Days" in season two, viewers learned about the other half of survivors who were on the tail of the plane. This immense twist in the story has been one of the reasons the show has been so popular.

Also in season two, the hatch was discovered which led to an understanding of the Dharma Initiative, a group that conducted human experiments on the island.

This season the new twists have been anticipated for two years and I say two years too long. The build up of this story has created expectations that are not being met.

In all fairness, the beginning of the season started with a bang, the next big secret to unlock on the island. In the first episode "A Tale of Two Cities," the introduction tells the story of "the others" who are a mystery to the misplaced crash survivors. It turns out "the others" do not have free will to leave the island as earlier implied.

Some of the big questions that have been answered this season deal with the characters, such as how Locke ended up in a wheelchair and who Desmond really is. This season shows more understanding of how "the others" operate and live.

This season also seems to be dragging along with tid-bit information that is holding back the flow of the show.

The long-standing question of whether Jack and Claire are related has finally been answered and, as I expected, yes they share the same father. Spoiler sites reveal that future episodes will result in one survivor being banished.

As time elapses many survivors are forced to deal with problems that haunted them before the crash. Somehow the island gives them a new beginning with opportunities to fix relationships and sort out feelings.

The mysteries of the island and what lies in the jungle forces the characters to show their true stripes and show courage in such an uncertain situation.

These moments make "Lost" my favorite show. Maybe next season the survivors will use their experiences on the island to band together and fight for answers and find their way home.
