Life at Brookhaven need not necessarily be all work and no play. Students can visit the Student Programs and Resources office in S201 to learn about the wide variety of clubs and organizations offered on campus.

Ranging from Student Government to the Visual Communications club and anything in between, clubs allow students to get involved in the school community and develop valuable leadership and networking skills.

Academic advisers encourage students to get involved in campus life. "There is a sense of camaraderie and community to be gained from getting involved," Mark Naugher, academic adviser said.

David 'Trey' Thompson, a student assistant in the SPAR office, said, "Getting involved helps you in the long run, it's like networking."

SPAR also houses the Service Learning, a program that combines academics with community service. Students can apply what they have learned in the classroom to the real world through volunteering opportunities, and many Brookhaven professors offer credit for the community service work.

The SPAR office staff offers computers and pay-to-use printers and copiers for student use, as well as make student ID cards.
